April: Military Children’s Health Month
Military children serve alongside their service member parents. They change schools after a PCS, they are separated from a parent during deployment, and they remain resilient through the constant change that is inherent in military life. The Department of Defense (DoD) has celebrated military children during the month of April since 1986, recognizing the contributions and personal sacrifices made by our kids. More than 2 million military children serve within their military families and they deserve our honor and support.
The DoD provides a wealth of resources when it comes to physical and mental healthcare. By offering services from newborn care and physical examinations, to helping kids cope with deployment, we want to give our little heroes every resource they need to thrive.
