The Air Force Medical Service is comprised of nearly 60,000 active duty, Reserve, civilian, and contract medical and support professionals who are responsible for the care of more than 2.6 million patients.
The Air Force has 76 military treatment facilities in the continental United States and overseas. More than 1,700 Air Force medical personnel are deployed to 19 countries.
