The Air Force Surgeon General supports the provision and development of locally generated Continuing Medical Education programs for all medical service personnel. These programs include educational activities, such as planned lectures, seminars, symposiums, advanced life support courses, enduring materials, and medical readiness training.
The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education accredits the Office of the Surgeon General, USAF, to award Category 1 designation to CME activities for physicians. As stated in AFI 41-117, Medical Service Officer Education (Chapter 5), the Headquarters, Air Force Personnel Center, Physician Education monitors the overall management of the program.
