AFMRA / SGE-C administrates USAF Human Research Protection Programs on behalf of the Surgeon General of the Air Force.
As the Department of Defense component office, AFMRA / SGE-C establishes policies and procedures, and provides education and training related to USAF HRPP. This office also ensures compliance with reviews of human research, after IRB approval, and performs site visits at random or for cause audits.
Additionally, AFMRA / SGE-C issues and accepts assurances for institutions conducting human subjects research.
