    Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) for the third vaccine for the prevention of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The EUA allows the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine to be distributed in the U.S for use in individuals 18 years of age and older.

    Department of Defense members assembled Feb. 24 in Florida to provide flexible support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19. Service members have temporarily been assigned to Fifteenth Air Force, under U.S. Northern Command’s Joint Force Land Component Command, U.S. Army North.
  • 42nd MDG Airmen leave for deployment

    The 25 deployed Airmen, which included clinicians, nurses, pharmacy technicians, medical technicians, logisticians and administrative personnel, joined the 335th Air Expeditionary Group, comprised of nearly 150 Airmen from bases across the country. The 335th AEG will man a FEMA vaccination center in Brooklyn, capable of administering 3,000 vaccinations daily.
