Jason Pace, chief of the Medical Enlisted Force and Enlisted Corps on the 59th Medical Wing's Airman Medical Transition Unit mission May 4 at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. The AMTU provides administrative oversight and supervision of Airmen recovering from combat and non-combat related injuries and illnesses. Ediger attended Battlefield Acupuncture training taught by Dr. Richard Niemtzow, Director of the Air Force Acupuncture Center on Joint Base Andrews on April 1, 2016. Battlefield Acupuncture is a rapid technique using tiny acupuncture needles inserted into the ears that directly modifies the way the central nervous system processes pain so as to reduce pain significantly in over 80% of patients.
