The Air Force is protecting Airmen while protecting the nation
How do you stand “shoulder to shoulder” in a time of COVID-19? For the United States Air and Space Forces, and indeed the entire United States military, this is no small question. It is so pressing, in fact, that the Air Force’s medical staff, in collaboration with experts nationwide, have been working nearly around the clock to answer it. It’s not hard to understand why.

Nevada Guardsmen battle COVID-19 as civilian medical professionals
While the Nevada National Guard has not been activated, some members of the state’s military force are among those already on the front line battling COVID-19. 1st Lt. Sparkle Mccuiston, 152nd Medical Group, Nevada Air National Guard, said she's come in contact with three confirmed cases while working her civilian job as an infectious disease nurse practitioner in Las Vegas.

Air Mobility Command temporarily suspends most Space-A travel due to COVID-19
Air Mobility Command today temporarily suspended most Space-Available travel aboard AMC and contracted aircraft, except for certain Category I, IV, and VI travel, effective March 21 in order to limit COVID-19’s spread and its impact on the force.

Goldfein emphasizes protecting force from COVID-19 while fulfilling all missions, operational priorities
Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David L. Goldfein said March 18 there have been seven confirmed cases of the new coronavirus to date among active-duty personnel, but that the Air Force is “still conducting global missions … which is priority one.”

Military health officials begin screening Air Force basic trainees for COVID-19
Each trainee is screened by qualified medical professionals upon arrival at the BMT reception center and anyone identified as a potential infected person would then be isolated from the rest of the population and provided treatment. During screening, all appropriate Centers for Disease Control preventive guidelines are followed by health care personnel. As of publication, no trainees have been identified as positive with COVID-19.
