Woodson leaves legacy of a modernized military medical system ready for the future

Dr. Jonathan Woodson, right, assistant secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, shows journalist Bob Woodruff several mementos collected during a lifetime of service as a doctor, a soldier and as the senior medical leader of the Military Health System. During more than half a decade at the Health Affairs helm, Woodson has guided the Military Health System through two wars and seismic changes in how health care is delivered throughout the military.
