Israel Del Toro promotion

Master Sgt. Israel Del Toro has replicas of master sergeant stripes "tacked on" his sleeves by his wife, Carmen, and his son, Israel Jr., Feb 26, 2016 at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Del Toro was officially promoted to master sergeant in a surprise ceremony officiated by Lt. Gen. Michelle Johnson, the Academy's superintendent, in front of several hundred staff members and cadets. Del Toro, a former Tactical Air Control Party instructor, is a Wounded Warrior athlete who trains in Colorado Springs. He was severally wounded by a roadside bomb blast in Afghanistan in late 2005.
