MTFs establishing direct access physical therapy clinics

Maj. Becky Azama, 359th Medical Operations Squadron physical therapist, applies electrical stimulation to a patient Feb. 2, 2015, at the medical clinic on Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. Electrical stimulation can be used as an alternative to medication for treating back pain. A new policy now allows active duty members with an acute musculoskeletal injury to make an appointment directly with a physical therapist.
