Air Force Surgeon General Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Thomas Travis, talks with Center for Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills instructors, Maj. Mehdi Shelhamer, pulmonologist, and TSgt. Jensen De Nijs, respiratory therapist, during his visit to CSTARS at the University of Cincinnati Health in Cincinnati, Ohio, April 30. The third of its kind in the nation, CSTARS is joint program between University of Cincinnati Medical Center and the Air Force which provides critical trauma and critical care air transport team training to deploying medics, and is a training platform to ensure personnel remain ready and current.
