Bioenvironmental Airmen prepare for first response

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Nicholas Johnson, 99th Aerospace Medicine Squadron bioenvironmental engineer journeyman, wears a radiation suit that is used by bioenvironmental engineering first responders during emergency response in the event of a radioactive mishap July 23, 2013, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. In addition to conducting gas mask fit tests, bioenvironmental engineers are also first responders during mishaps and provide direct support to commanders on environmental health situations that could result in sickness or death.
