CCATTs continue life saving missions

Maj. William Moore, 59th Medical Wing Critical Care Air Transport Team Pilot Unit Coordinator, showcases a Patient Isolation Unit (PIU) during CCATT training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, May, 23, 2013. The (PIU) is a temporary, single-use, portable structure that is designed to fully contain and transport a patient and prevent contamination between the patient, the external environment and the caregivers. The 59th Medical Wing CCAT teams currently have the only PIU mission in the entire Department of Defense. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Corey Hook)
