Texas Mass Casualty Exercise tests military and civilian first responders

Patients lay on stacked litters onboard a WC-130J Hercules aircraft during a mass casualty exercise, Sept. 19 at Kelly Field Annex, Texas. Airmen from the 433rd Aeromedical Evaluation Squadron provided medical care to patients until they were off-loaded from the aircraft for triage. The patients were placed directly in an ambulance bus and taken to local hospitals, including the San Antonio Military Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston. (U.S. Air Force Photo/A1C Krystal Ardrey)
