Airman recovers from life-threatening illness thanks to innovative medical procedure

Known to be a fighter, Staff Sgt. Jennifer Vaughan said that she had a lot to live for that included her 10-year-old sister, Molly Zimmerly, and her brother, Staff Sgt. Andrew Vaughan, who inspired her to join the Air Force and who is a firefighter stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. She is also close to her fiance’s three children and her parents who helped her through this ordeal. Members of her unit—Public Health Flight—were instrumental in cheering her up with visits and raising money for her family and for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. (Courtesy photo)
