Airman recovers from life-threatening illness thanks to innovative medical procedure

Staff Sgt. Jennifer Vaughan, a public health technician, was deployed to Afghanistan prior to being diagnosed with leukemia. She began feeling ill after she returned and thought it had something to do with the transition home and perhaps the onset of the flu. She entered the hospital in October 2012 and was not released until July 2013. (Courtesy photo)
