Therapists help Iraqi patients gain independence

JOINT BASE BALAD, Iraq -- Lt. Col. Lisa Smith and Tech. Sgt. Daniel Wilson help Iraqi local Moqdad, whose leg was shattered two months ago, take his first steps in two weeks during a physical therapy appointment at the Air Force Theater Hospital here July 22. Moqdad is an Iraqi local whose leg was shattered two months ago. The hospital's Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy Clinic provides care for Iraqi patients twice a week. Colonel Smith, element chief of occupational and physical therapy for the 332nd Expeditionary Medical Operations Squadron, is deployed from Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
