VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Col. Carl Frushon, commander of the 30th Launch Group, proposes a toast during Vandenberg's 50th Anniversary Ball on Oct. 4 at the Pacific Coast Club. During the dinner portion of the ball, a series of toasts are made, including one to prisoners of war and those servicemembers missing in action. The ball included a presentation of 50 years of Vandenberg history, as well as a speech by Gen. (Retired) Lance Lord, the former Air Force Space Command commander.
