Golden Shovels

Ismail Aytekin, contractor with Aytekin Serol, Col. Philip McDaniel, 39th Air Base Wing commander, Tom Carneal, Vinnell, Brown and Root corporation deputy director of civil engineering, and Lieutenant Col. Randy Boswell, 39th Civil Engineer squadron commander break ground at the “construct waste water reuse irrigation system” project opening ceremony at Incirlik’s Hodja Lake Golf Course May 8, 2009 at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. The purpose of the project is the reuse of treated water for the golf course’s irrigation, to replace the currently used potable water, which is supplied from on and off-base wells. This will save energy and money, reducing the potable water demand. The new irrigation system will cover the fairways, tees, greens, internal and external rough areas and driving range.
