AF Week New York City

Lt. Col. (Dr.) Antonio Eppolito, chief of AF Telemedicine, left, discusses the AF Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy Program entitled "Virtual Iraq" with Secretary of the Air Force Michael B. Donley outside the Air Force Telehealth booth during AF Week New York City Aug. 23 on the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum's 86th Street Pier. "Virtual Iraq" involves exposing patients to a virtual world that simulates the sources of combat stress. By gradually reintroducing the patient to the experiences that triggered the trauma, the memory becomes tolerable. Roughly 8,000 people visited the AF displays.
