Anaplastologist creates ears for wounded

U.S. Army Staff Sgt. (Ret.) Shilo Harris looks in the mirror as he views the placement of his prosthetic ears, Oct. 5, 2010, at the MacKown Dental Clinic, Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Wounded in Iraq, Harris has endured several medical procedures in a course of three years. During this time he has become a nationally-recognized speaker educating community support for wounded warriors. The 59th Medical Wing's Maxillofacial Prosthetics Department is one of only a few in the Department of Defense that creates prosthetic body parts, such as eyes, ears and noses.
