CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand – A C-17 Globemaster III takes off here June 29, in support of a medical evacuation of an ailing National Science Foundation government contractor from Antarctica. The Joint Base Lewis-McChord aircraft is tactically assigned to the 304th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron as part of the Joint Task Force-Support Forces Antarctica medical evacuation mission.
