From shooting survivor to METC graduate, trauma turns to triumph

Air Force Staff Sgt. Deondra Parks with Lt. Col. Troy Roberts, her former commanding officer at the 72nd Security Forces Squadron who attended Parks' graduation from the Basic Medical Technician/Corpsman Program at the Medical Education & Training Campus (METC) in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Parks was enrolled in the program at Sheppard Air Force Base in 2010 but had to drop from training after she was shot.
