Medical leaders cut ribbon on new SAMMC tower

Lamar Smith, Dr. Jonathan Woodson, assistant secretary of Defense for Health Affairs and director of TRICARE Management Activity, and Lt. Gen. Eric B. Schoomaker, surgeon general of the Army (left to right), cut the ribbon to open the new Consolidated Tower Oct. 7,2011 at the San Antonio Military Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The new 760,000-square-foot tower will provide a seven-story inpatient bed tower, four-story ancillary care center, and three-story outpatient clinical and administrative space.
