10th Medical Group rustles up win at Medic Rodeo
The U.S. Air Force Academy’s 10th Medical Group bucked the competition to take home first place at the 2023 Medic Rodeo competition at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M. Aug. 21-25. The four-person 10th MDG team saddled up to compete against 17 teams from across the Air Force to determine which medical team was best prepared to provide medical care in a combat environment.

Brig. Gen. Thomas W. Harrell delivers his first remarks as commander of the 59th Medical Wing during a wing change of command ceremony Sept. 6, 2023, at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. As the commander of the 59th MDW, he commands the Air Force Medical Service’s largest healthcare, medical education and readiness platform comprised of six groups with a staff of 8,400 personnel executing a $317 million budget, the wing provides 900,000 clinic visits, 18,000 surgical procedures and greater than 300 worldwide deployments annually. US, Qatar strengthen partnership with airborne insertion exercise
A container delivery system (CDS) bundle containing blood products descends to the ground after exiting a U.S. Air Force MC-130 aircraft in Doha, Qatar, Aug. 17, 2023. The CDS bundle drop coincided with a joint airborne insertion exercise involving U.S. and Qatar forces.
