The 21st Medical Group broke ground for its new dental clinic on May 25. The location of the new facility will be adjacent to the current dental clinic (across from the Commissary). Estimated completion date is Fall 2017. Until then patients will continue to utilize the existing facility.

The new dental clinic will be approximately 16,665 square feet, and like the current facility it replaces, will house general dentistry, prosthodontics, periodontics, and oral surgery for active-duty members. It will have full dental x-ray capabilities and will continue to provide a state-of-the-art instrument sterilization center.

The site and building layouts provide convenient access for both patients and staff. The expansive glass and open character allow daylight to penetrate the building, reaching the interior spaces. All those receiving dental care will enjoy an abundance of natural light and maximized views of the Front Range and Pike’s Peak through west-facing windows in each of the 20 treatment rooms. Design and construction are focused on environmentally friendly and sustainable practices achieving Facility Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Silver certification.

Peterson AFB has a goal of providing cost effective, world class medical facilities for its eligible beneficiaries. Construction is estimated to take roughly 17 months, and we thank you for your understanding and patience during this exciting time of transition. We look forward to continuing our tradition of providing exceptional health care in this new, state of the art facility. Please contact Lt. Col. Mark Reynolds, 21st Medial Support Squadron commander, at 719-556-5588 with questions regarding this project.
