Walking Together Provides More than Exercise Published Nov. 17, 2015 By Tech. Sgt. Terrica Y. Jones 379th Air Expeditionary Wing Public Affairs AL UDEID AIR BASE, QATAR -- “Families that walk together, talk together.” November is the month of the military family and the Airman and Family Readiness Center at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar held its 2nd annual family walk Nov. 14. “Families can’t really talk if they are running at different paces, but if they walk they can talk and get some quality exercise,” said Michelle Lippert 379th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron Airmen and Family Readiness community readiness consultant. Military families walked a two-mile loop wearing a recognition bib honoring their family members. “We not only recognize the families that are together here but all the families that are not here with us,” said Tennie Good, the wife of 379th Air Expeditionary Wing Command Chief Master Sgt. Thomas Good. “I am always reminded that we don't always have to talk to be a family, sometimes it’s just enough to be in each other's presence because that's where we get our strength and our foundation,” said Good. Participants were given dog tags, met Sparky the Firedog, toured a bucket truck, saw an explosive ordnance disposal F-6 robot, military working dogs, and mine resistant ambush protected vehicles.
