Air Force Marathon 10K Sells Out in Record Time Published April 25, 2014 By Tiffany Johnson USAF Marathon Office WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The Air Force Marathon 10K sold out in record time, nearly 7 weeks earlier than in 2013. "It's amazing," said Rob Aguiar, race director. "The races are all selling at an accelerated rate this year, and the 10K registration rates have been phenomenal. Mr. Aguiar said the event is 65 percent full and the races are capped at the same amount as 2013's event. "We did not expect the 10K to sell out so much earlier than last year," he added, "I encourage everyone to register as soon as possible before we sell out." Mr. Aguiar says that all races could sell out in April. "We always get phone calls from people who want into our race after we close-out," said Mr. Aguiar, "I always, always warn people to register early." Prices for the full and half marathons are currently $90 and $75, while the 5K is $30. All race prices will rise by $5 on April 2, if there are any spots left. The Air Force Marathon, presented by Northrop Grumman, USAA and Boeing, will be held Sept. 20 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Participants start and finish at the National Air Force Museum, and spectators are welcome at the museum or in downtown Fairborn. The Sports & Fitness Expo is held at Wright State University's Nutter Center and will be Thursday, September 18, and Friday, September 19.
