April 26 through May 3 was National Infant Immunization Week and the month of May is Toddler Immunization Month. Both campaigns are annual observances highlighting the importance of routine immunizations for children younger than 2-years old. Immunizations are one of the best ways parents can protect their infants from 14 serious childhood diseases.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that you vaccinate your child according to the schedules posted here: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/schedules/index.html?s_cid=cs_001. (U.S. Navy photo/Kris Patterson)
