AFA names 2014 outstanding civilian award winners Published July 14, 2014 By Janis El Shabazz Air Force Personnel Center Public Affairs JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas (AFNS) -- Air Force officials announced the winners of the 2014 Air Force Association Outstanding Air Force Civilian of the Year awards July 10. Each year, the AFA recognizes four Air Force civilian Airmen for outstanding achievement in any career field. The 2014 recipients were: Civilian Wage Employee of the Year - Jerry M. Britt, Jr., kennel master, 341th Training Squadron, JBSA-Lackland, Texas Civilian Program Specialist of the Year - Nancy A. Hansen, restoration technician anaplastologist, 59th Dental Training Squadron, JBSA-Lackland, Texas. Civilian Program Manager of the Year - Nicholas Davenport, lead engineer and program manager, Air Force Network Integration Center, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Civilian Senior Manager of the Year - Daryl R. Kitchen, Global Hawk product support manager, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. The award for the senior manager of the year will be presented in September in conjunction with the AFA 2014 Air and Space Conference and Technology Exposition in Washington, D.C. Presentations for the civilian wage employee, program specialist and program manager categories will be presented at appropriate state and local chapter ceremonies in coordination with the winners' local commanders.
