59th MDW Airman receives Purple Heart

SAN ANTONIO, Tx. --  Tech. Sgt. Kristopher K. Parker receives the Purple Heart from Col. Markus Gmehlin, 59th Medical Support Group commander, Feb. 27, 2015 in the Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center auditorium, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Parker, a member of the 59th MDW's Airman Medical Transition Unit, received the distinguished medal for wounds received in action in May 2014 while deployed to Afghanistan.
