Mr. Griffith has been a safety specialist for eight years. His past assignments include Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla., and Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, with three deployments to Iraq. Mr. Griffith's many accomplishments include being largely responsible for resurrecting the 59th MDW safety program, which led to an "excellent" rating during an AETC staff assistance visit. "When I first arrived at Wilford Hall, I accomplished a self-inspection of the wing's safety program," said Mr. Griffith, "I identified the areas that did not meet Air Force requirements and corrected the deficiencies. Many of the deficiencies were in education. We instituted the supervisor safety training and the advanced traffic safety courses." The award was presented to Mr. Griffith by 59th MDW leadership on April 7.
