Phipps 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Members of the 366th Medical Group recently were recognized by wing-leadership for rising to the occasion and showcasing their exemplary capabilities during an Air Force-wide Health Services Inspection, Aug. 28. Col. Sarady Tan, 366th Medical Group commander, began by addressing his troops. "Congratulations on receiving an 'Excellent' rating for the HSI!" exclaimed Tan "You should be very proud of this accomplishment." One of the primary objectives of the inspection was to assess the ability of the Air Force medical units to fulfill their peacetime and wartime missions, including the provision of medical care and support of the wing's mission. The final report by the inspectors highlighted the group's success, stating, "The 366 MDG is fulfilling the health care needs of their beneficiary population in an excellent manner while meeting the mission requirements of the 366th Fighter Wing, Air Force Air Combat Command and the Department of Defense." The report continued by citing some of the group's specific achievements. "Col Tan and his executive staff are successful in meeting the mission by providing safe and innovative healthcare to the Gunfighter community of 3,700 active duty and 10,100 beneficiaries. Patients are very happy with the care that they receive from the MDG as evidenced by extremely high satisfaction survey rates." One of the individuals recognized by wing leadership for her part in the inspection was 2nd Lt. Victoria Weiger, medical readiness flight commander. "Although I'm the one who got recognized, I feel strongly that I couldn't have performed well without the resources provided by my leadership, or my Airmen below me doing such a good job," said Weiger. The report concluded by pointing out the significance of exceptional leadership, stating, "Col Tan has a well-disciplined unit that has supported the Wing's motto of 'Mission First, People Always, and Strong Community' in excellent fashion. His extremely effective leadership and vision will ensure that efficient, timely, quality medical care at the 366 MDG well into the future." The group's exceptional performance was even acknowledged by the pinnacle of the wing's leadership. "I am very proud of the Gunfighter medics," said Col. Chris Short, 366th Fighter Wing commander. "To get an 'excellent' is an outstanding achievement."
