The event was held to address changes in the nursing corps, to include requirements for nurse practitioners transitioning to the doctor of nursing practice levels, the Air Force and Department of Defense shortage in psychiatric providers, defining and negotiating the scope of practice for Air Force medics in the joint environment, and improving care coordination with wounded warriors as they transition between the Department of Veteran Affairs and the DOD.
