Hitting the MARC Published July 1, 2013 By Staff Sgt. Brandon Shapiro 6th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- It has been almost two months since the opening of the MacDill Area Resilience Center, which hit the ground running. Just as its mission statement suggests, the MARC caters to everyone; from MacDill area service members and their families, civilian employees, and retirees, it has Team MacDill covered. With an impressive one-stop-shop design, the MARC is set up to promote comprehensive fitness, provide resilience training, and ensure that everyone who comes by its office leaves with the resources needed to become more resilient and better-equipped to deal with the rigors of military life. "Our goal is simple, we want to reach out to each and every member of Team MacDill, giving them the resources needed to better cope with stress and to become resilient military members, better parents, spouses, leaders, and mentors," said Tech. Sgt. Jasmine Rodriguez, MARC NCO in charge. "Through the diverse set of helping organizations and classes we provide, we guarantee that there is a little bit of something that can benefit everyone." Whether you are trying to sharpen up on your social, spiritual, physical, or mental resilience, this is the place to go. With functionality in mind, the MARC makes it simple to find the guidance and support one needs. The helping agencies available through the MARC are the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment team, Airman & Family Readiness Center, Area Defense Council, chapel, family advocacy, mental health, military family life consultants, Office of Special Investigations, Sexual Assault and Response Coordinator, Health and Wellness Center, and the Department. of Child Protection.
