Col. (Dr.) Mark D. Levin serves as the Commander of the 329th Medical Wing at Medical Readiness Command-Alpha in San Antonio, Texas. He leads 11 Medical Groups, providing strategic planning, budgeting, programming, human resource management, deployment medicine, and medical readiness oversight to organize, train, and equip 6,000 medical professionals. Col. Levin is responsible for generating a medically ready force for Air Mobility Command, as well as ensuring the medical force is ready to deliver healthcare services globally for combatant and humanitarian operations.
Prior to this assignment, Col. Levin served as Commander, 559th Medical Group, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas. As Commander, he led 543 officers, enlisted, contract, and civilian Airmen unifying medical operations for military treatment facilities at JBSA-Lackland and JBSA-Randolph. His background includes numerous leadership roles, including Medical Director, Chief of Medical Staff, Squadron Commander, Deputy Group Commander, and Group Commander.
Prior to active duty, Col. Levin served as a private practice anesthesiologist in Massachusetts and joined the Massachusetts Air National Guard in 2010. Col. Levin is a trained Flight Surgeon and Critical Care Air Transport Team physician. He has deployed twice for CCATT and served as the Commander, COVID Theatre Hospital, for the state of California during the height of the pandemic.
