Carroll, the former commander at the Defense Health Headquarters in Falls Church, Va. on Sept. 26, 2013. General Carroll also served as the 16th Biomedical Sciences Corps chief and Assistant Surgeon General for Modernization, where he oversaw daily operations of the Modernization Directorate for requirements, aerospace medicine and information management and technology for the AFMS.
