Emergency-readiness exercises held for first responders at the 79th Medical Wing

Emergency-readiness exercises are being held for first responders at the 79th Medical Wing on Joint Base Andrews in preparation for the upcoming air show on Sept. 19. Col. Thomas Cantilina, 779th Medical Group Commander and Lt. Col. Andrew Lattimore, 779th Medical Support Squadron Commander, were on hand to observe the exercise. Practicing for various emergency scenarios allows our first responders at the 79th Medical Wing and hospitals in the region the opportunity to train together for a myriad of contingencies. There is no expectation for an accident to occur during the 2015 Joint Base Andrews Air Show, but the exercise evaluated the response of base emergency personnel in the case of a mass casualty incident.
