Next Generation DNA Sequencing

DoD DNA Registry, Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory (AFDIL) DNA Analyst, Holly Krantz, extracts mtDNA using filter columns to remove impurities. AFDIL, which is part of the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System (AFMES) at Dover AFB, Del., is working with the newest innovation in Forensic DNA science, Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) Hybridization Capture and Next Generation DNA Sequencing (NGS).
