The Vascular Surgery Residency is a fully accredited, accelerated vascular training program that began in 2012. It is integrated with the University of California, Davis and the Department of Veterans Affairs Northern California Health Care System. Residents who complete training are eligible to sit for the American Board of Surgery Vascular Surgery exam.
The Vascular faculty at David Grant USAF Medical Center are comprised of three board certified vascular and endovascular surgeons performing in our state-of-the-art Heart, Lung and Vascular Center.
Two applicants are selected for the Vascular Residency each year comprised of one active duty intern and one civilian intern. Active duty vascular residents enter into the five year program with an added year of dedicated research. Military residents are selected by the Joint Services Graduate Medical Education Selection Board in December. Civilian residents are selected via the National Residency Matching Program in March.
