Colonel David Stanczyk currently serves as the Director of the Air Force Dental Corps and Chief of the Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) Force Sustainment Division at the Office of the Surgeon General in Falls Church, Virginia. In these roles, Col Stanczyk formulates policies and oversees execution of force sustainment programs for the Medical Service, to include recruitment, retention, special pays, health professions scholarships and promotion opportunities, to provide a medical force with the appropriate skills, experience and rank structure. Colonel Stanczyk also coordinates policy and support for executive decisions with the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (ASD/HA), the Air Force Surgeon General (AF/SG), Air Forces Major Commands, the Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC) and the Air Force Recruiting Service (AFRS). As Director of the Dental Corps and Career Field Manager, he oversees force development and professional development opportunities for over 1000 dental officers. He is responsible for establishment, job qualifications and duty progressions of all dental officers' positions in the Dental Service, to include command/leadership, academic and clinical assignments. Col Stanczyk is also the Consultant to the AF/SG for Dental Technology Integration. In this role he provides functional expertise for development, implementation and ongoing support for the AF Dental Service Information Management/Information Technology portfolio, affecting over 200 AF dental treatment facilities for the Active Duty, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard at all worldwide locations.

Colonel Stanczyk received a direct commission upon graduation from the Oregon Health Sciences University, School of Dentistry in 1984. He is a diplomat of the Federal Services Board of Dentistry and the American Board of General Dentistry, a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and a Fellow of the International College of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Association of Military Surgeons in the United States. Additionally, he is the Consultant to the AF/SG in Dental Technology Integration and is the Air Force representative to the American Dental Association's Scientific Committee on Dental Informatics and the Armed Forces Institute of Regenerative Medicine.
