As Air Force Medicine continues to go through organizational change, the MAJCOM Surgeons are hard at work, playing a pivotal role in the Air Force’s ability to stay on the leading edge of Trusted Care healthcare. This month we sat down with Air Education and Training Command’s Surgeon, Col. (Dr.) Gianna R. Zeh, to discuss ongoing improvements, how medical Airmen can succeed, and her personal journey as a leader.
Senior Airman Linda Wilson, an aerospace medical technician with the 99th Medical Operations Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, was recognized at the 12th Annual Angels of the Battlefield Awards Gala on October 2, 2018 for extraordinary lifesaving efforts during the deadliest shooting in modern American History.
As the Defense Health Agency assumes authority, direction and control of military treatment facilities, the Air Force Medical Service will remain steadfast on its Trusted Care journey towards higher reliability and Zero Harm.
Airmen may need crowns, retainers, night guards or some other form of dental gear. To provide this, dentists take impressions of the patient’s mouth. Once made, they’re taken to the dental lab where the technicians make a mold from the impression. This is the part patients don’t get to witness.

As a result, new non-AD beneficiaries will be assigned a PCM in the network. To enroll call TRICARE at 800-444-5445 and select Option 1, Option 5. A TRICARE representative will assist you and your family through this process. To view a list of TRICARE providers go to: https://www.humanamilitary.com/beneficiary/enrollment-and-claims/change-your-pcm.
Retirees and family members of retirees: Would it be more convenient for you to see a civilian PCM while remaining on TRICARE Prime? If you are a retiree or retiree family member, you and your family can currently move from a military PCM on Robins Air Force Base to a civilian PCM in the network. This opportunity will remain available until further notice. If interested, please contact TRICARE at 1-800-444-5445 or visit the TRICARE Operations & Patient Administration desk located in the clinic to discuss how this may affect your benefits, copays and other options.
