Comprehensive dental care is provided for all active duty military personnel and eligible dependents. Dental sick call appointments are available daily and filled with patients requiring urgent dental care. If in pain, and during clinic hours, please contact the dental clinic for an appointment. For individuals requiring emergency dental care outside of clinic hours, please report to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. Active duty and dependents who visit John Radcliffe for emergency dental services are required to report these visits to RAF Croughton Dental Clinic the next duty day and should anticipate follow up appointments with our clinic to provide comprehensive care.
The Air Force Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is designed to provide support to military family members with special needs. All branches of the military offer EFMP, and each Service includes a variety of personnel, medical and family support functions under the EFMP umbrella. There are no emergency services at RAF Croughton. If you are having a medical emergency call 999. There is no sick call at SFHC; patients are seen by appointment only. To book appointments call 01280 708738 or DSN 236-8737 Per AFI 41-210, Sec 3.6.4. Unit Commanders and supervisors have the authority to grant up to 24 hours sick status at their discretion if a member’s illness/injury does not require MTF intervention.

How can I schedule an appointment with the Optometry clinic?
There are optometry appointments available in the Croughton Clinic once a quarter from a visiting optometrist from Lakenheath. When appointments are available a notice is sent out in the weekly base newsletter through e-mail to all Active Duty members Routine Eye appointments are available for booking at any time at RAF Lakenheath. A referral is not required to make an appointment at RAF Lakenheath for a routine eye exam. RAF Lakenheath Hospital information is 01638-52-8205 where you can be directed through options to the optometry clinic for appointment information at Lakenheath. In addition, TRICARE Prime patients can obtain off base optometry referrals.
What should I bring to my appointment?
For routine eye exams, patients need to bring in their current glasses or a copy of their old prescription.
What services does the Optometry clinic provide?
The Optometry Clinic provides treatment for comprehensive eye diseases such as Glaucoma, and Cataracts. The Clinic also performs Diabetic Retinal Exams, color vision screening, and driver license exams.
When should children get optometry examinations?
TRICARE pays for one routine eye screening each year after six years of age. Only TRICARE Prime patients can obtain off base optometry referrals. This can be done by contacting your PCM.
