Seek Urgent / Emergency Care

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If housed in lodging, dial 9-9-911. Some military treatment facility locations offer emergency room services and others do not, so be sure to be familiar with the clinics and services offered at your location.

Medical emergencies are the sudden and unexpected onset of a medical condition that:

  • Is threatening to life, limb, or eyesight;
  • Requires immediate medical treatment; or
  • Manifests painful symptoms that requires immediate response to alleviate suffering.

If needed, active duty personnel may be seen at an off-post urgent care center. TRICARE authorization is required. Failure to secure an authorization number may result in financial liability.

Do not report to the WAMC Urgent Care for an emergency situation or follow-up care. If you need a follow-up appointment for any medical reason, please make an appointment with your primary care manager.

Dependents no longer need a referral for WAMC Urgent Care.
