Tinnitus evaluation and management strategies are provided as needed. Hearing conservation evaluations are available to those referred by Public Health or Occupational Health. SPRINT testing is available for Army profile evaluations. Hearing aid selections, fittings and follow up care available, pending a diagnosis of hearing loss. Implantable device management, such as cochlear implants and Bahas, is available. Services currently not available at this location include vestibular evaluations and central auditory processing evaluations. Audiology appointments cannot be made without a referral from your primary care manager. Currently, services are only available to active duty personnel.
Works with primary care managers when medications have been prescribed for anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder. Contacts patients by telephone to monitor symptoms and check on management of health concerns. Shares progress with the primary care team. Works with internal health behavior consultants and primary care managers to make quick, effective changes to treatment and address symptoms. Consultation is over the telephone and referrals are made by the primary care manager.

About us: The dental clinic has most dental specialties represented to include general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery and orthodontics. The dental clinic also operates a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry, or AEGD-1, residency program for six recent dental school graduates. Periodically there may be a requirement for unique, hard to find cases to meet the needs of the residency program. These requirements may be fulfilled using non-active duty patients. These cases are limited, and advertised only if no active duty patients can be found to fulfill these requirements. Active duty personnel will be contacted to schedule their periodic dental exam appointment. Follow-on appointments are made at the time of the periodic dental exam appointment or by calling the dental clinic. Eligible patients with dental emergencies such as acute severe pain, bleeding, significant swelling or trauma can call the dental clinic for a screening appointment or report to the emergency department during non-duty hours.

About us: The dermatology clinic is a specialty clinic available to active duty service members and their families. Appointments cannot be made without a referral from your primary care manager. Services offered include evaluation and treatment of skin complaints to include growths, rashes, cancers, and skin exams, as well as, phototherapy, photodynamic therapy, and basic skin cancer excision or removal. Mohs surgery, cosmetic procedures, and most laser procedures, to include laser hair removal, are not currently available at this location. No cosmetic services, to include Botox, fillers, or elective removal of asymptomatic benign lesions such as benign moles and skin tags are offered at this location.

About us: We provide routine vaccinations for all active duty personnel on a walk-in basis. Immunizations will not be given early and must be given at the correct interval. If you have received vaccinations from a non-Air Force facility, you must provide the clinic with those records as we do not have access to non-Air Force immunization records. Vaccines will not be administered without appropriate identification and documentation. For deployment vaccines you must first be seen by Deployment Medicine. For travel vaccines, you must first be seen by Travel Medicine. For in-processing and out-processing, you must be cleared with Flight Medicine. For the Pneumovax and Pneumonia vaccine, you must be 64 years old or younger and must have a provider prescription. For Tuberculin purified protein derivative, or PPD TB skin test, we do not do placement and readings on Thursdays nor the preceding day of a long weekend. For the Flu vaccine, we provide seasonally within Department of Defense guidance and while supplies are available. For Cholera you must notify our clinic two weeks before departure, and is ordered on as needed basis.

About us: We provide routine vaccinations for all dependents and beneficiaries, age two months and up on a walk-in basis. The two, four and six month vaccinations must be spaced a minimum of two months apart. Children must be at least one and four years old to receive their one and four year shots. Immunizations will not be given early and must be given at the correct interval. We use the biopsychosocial model to identify biological, psychological and social factors affecting well-being. We identify a key challenge impacting your health, as well as identify thoughts and behaviors used to address that challenge. We work with patients to strengthen thoughts and behaviors and develop healthier ones. We use short follow up appointments to revise or reevaluate the patient’s plan. We refer to specialty treatment, if necessary. The patient’s plan is documented in medical records and shared with the primary care manager. We offer group classes targeting specific skills and issues such as relaxation, health behavior change, sleep, and anger.

Along with acute maintenance, follow-up care, inpatient care and education for patients with multiple health conditions requiring comprehensive medication management. About us: The lab provides a full range of services including surgical pathology, cyto-pathology, hematology, coagulation, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, microbiology, and transfusion services. Lab tests not performed at this site are referred to an accredited referral lab for testing. Referral tests may take approximately two weeks. All patients requiring fasting blood tests must fast 12 to 14 hours unless otherwise directed by the requesting provider; only water is authorized. You may also take prescription medications, as directed by your provider, during this timeframe. For glucose tolerance testing, or GTT, patients will remain in laboratory until completion. One-hour GTT for obstetrician patients are performed Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. No fasting is required for this test. Two and three-hour GTT patients must be scheduled in advance. Note: Requesting providers' orders must be in the computer system at the time of scheduling. In addition, a 12-hour fast is required prior to specimen collection. To obtain lab results, please contact your requesting provider. Printed copies of lab test results may be obtained through the Release of Information office, located in the Outpatient Records department.
Labs ordered by off base providers: The lab will process an outside provider's written lab orders. Lab orders must be legible. If you are unable to read your handwritten lab order, please have the provider re-accomplish it.

Scheduled services offered: Optometry provides comprehensive eye care examinations, visual and ocular evaluations as part of operational specific exams and flying class physicals, and additional ancillary testing as driven by exam findings. As contact lenses and contact lens related services are not TRICARE covered benefits, non-mission related contact lens fittings are not provided at the Optometry clinic. If, however, a member is a current contact lens wearer, wears their contact lenses to their scheduled exam for evaluation, and can bring a current contact lens prescription, then contact lens prescriptions can be updated.

Newborn hospital follow-up: Typically, this appointment type is scheduled for newborns by the discharging nursery staff at Langley. Two-week well baby visit: For beneficiaries not yet enrolled in a clinic location, this appointment may be booked with any military treatment facility in the multiservice market, including Fort Eustis, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, and the TRICARE network.
Well baby: Visits should abide by the following schedule: 2 weeks, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 24 months, and then annually.
Exceptional Family Member Program, or EFMP: If a child has not completed a physical in the past year, schedule a well visit and bring the packet with your portion complete to the appointment.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD, behavioral evaluations: All appointments are scheduled by the nurses. Call the appointment line to leave a telephone consult for the child's primary care manager.
Sore throat clinic: Patients between 3-18 years old with concerns for sore throat or strep pharyngitis may arrive to the front desk of the pediatric clinic between 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. for a walk-in technician appointment.
Fracture and orthopedic follow-up: Please bring X-ray CD from urgent care or emergency room to the pediatric front desk and initiate a telephone consult. The images will be uploaded for orthopedic review and treatment plan.

About us: The Department of Anesthesia, Pre-Anesthesia Clinic, Same-Day Surgery, and Post-anesthesia Care Unit provides the highest quality of professional anesthesia and perioperative nursing care to our warriors and their beneficiaries. Our goal is to coordinate and collaborate with our surgeon colleagues to ensure that patient-focused, safe, quality care is completed throughout the surgical continuum.
Pre-Anesthesia Clinic: Surgical candidates who require additional pre-anesthesia screening will be referred to the Pre-Anesthesia clinic. There you will be interviewed by our pre-anesthesia nurse, and you may also be assessed by a member of our anesthesia staff. Your appointment will be scheduled through the referring surgical specialty clinic. Please bring a current list of all your medications, and please obtain all necessary lab work, including your electrocardiography, or EKG, if applicable prior to your Pre-Anesthesia clinic visit.
Same-Day Surgery, or SDS: Same day surgery allows you to spend the night prior to surgery with your family. Your doctor and your type of surgery will determine whether same day surgery is an option in your plan of care. If you are scheduled for same day surgery, you will be given an appointment for your admission after 3 p.m. the day prior to your surgery. Prior to your surgery you will be given specific instructions about your surgery and recovery.
Post-anesthesia Care Unit, or PACU: After receiving anesthesia for surgery or procedure, a patient is sent to us to recover from their procedure and wake up. Patients are admitted immediately after surgery. Once a patient has recovered from the initial phase of anesthesia they will be transferred to the same day surgery area or medical-surgical inpatient unit by the nursing staff.

About us: Urology is a surgical specialty providing care for a wide variety of urological problems and disorders, including hematuria, urinary stones, prostate, kidney, bladder, testis cancers, male infertility, male-female incontinence and voiding dysfunction. Examples of procedures performed in the clinic are: vasectomy, urodynamics, cystoscopy, transrectal ultrasound of the prostate with or without needle biopsy.
Special Instructions: Please check in the urology clinic 15 minutes prior to appointment time.
A referral is required from your primary care manager. If patient has been seen in the Langley Urology clinic in the past two years, a new referral is not needed. The urology clinic provides care to active duty personnel, dependents, and retirees. All routine follow up appointments are scheduled through the Hampton Roads Appointment Center or by clinic staff.

About us: Women’s Health OB/GYN services are available on a referral-only basis for female patients age 10 or older. For OB care, you must have proof of pregnancy in our medical record system and an active referral in order to schedule an appointment. For GYN care, you must be referred by your primary care manager. For New OB orientation class, all pregnant patients are enrolled in a New OB Orientation Class, which provides an introduction to your care at our hospital. At this visit, you will discuss milestones of care with the clinic nurse and OB provider. Your labs will conveniently be drawn at this appointment and any additional testing or imaging will be ordered.
