New Coverage: Dental and Vision benefits On January 1, 2018 a reform of the Military Health System (MHS) began rolling out with the implementation of many of the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) laws. As part of these reforms, the current TRICARE Retiree Dental Program (TRDP) will end on Dec.31, 2018. Eligible TRICARE beneficiaries will have the opportunity to enroll in the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) during the 2018 Federal Benefit Open Season, which runs from Nov.12 through Dec. 10, 2018, to receive benefits on Jan.1, 2019. FEDVIP is a voluntary, enrollee-pay-all dental and vision program that offers eligible partecipants a choice between 10 dental and four vision carriers, with some plans offering both high and standard options. Enrollee-pay-all means there are no government contributions toward premiums. Eligible TRICARE beneficiaries will have the opportunity to enroll in FEDVIP and manage their coverage via BENEFEDS.com, a secure enrollment portal. Eligible TRICARE beneficiaries who do not enroll in FEDVIP dental and/or vision plan during the 2018 Federal Benefit Open Season will have the opportunity to enroll each year during the annual open season. The only opportunity to enroll outside of the open season is if a beneficiary experiences a qualifying life even (QLE). WHO IS ELIGIBLE? In general, Retired Uniformed Service Members and their families who were eligible for the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program (TRDP) are eligible for Federal Employee Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) dental program and, if enrolled in a TRICARE health plan, FEDVIP vision coverage. In addition, family members of active duty uniformed service members who are enrolled in a TRICARE health plan are eligible for FEDVIP vision coverage. For more information on the new program, visit www.tricare.benefds.com

The caller is not a TRICARE representative. https://www.tricare.mil/ContactUs/ReportFraudAbuse.aspx
