Air Force Surgeon General Announces Outstanding Achievement in Innovation Award Published Feb. 10, 2016 FALLS CHURCH, Va. -- The Air Force Surgeon General has announced the 96th Medical Group Medicine Subspecialties Element team, Air Force Material Command, as the Air Force Medical Service 2015 Outstanding Achievement in Innovation Annual Award winner. The AFMC group demonstrated an innovative approach in their standing up of an Ebola project and leveraging that infrastructure to provide other services, such as Women’s Health exams and clinical trials. The recipients’ accomplishment focused on Ebola response, including the establishment of the first ever USTRANSCOM Ebola Transport Isolation System (TIS) and the authorization of an Ebola response plan. While initially directed by a Presidential initiative, the team expanded their efforts to incorporate other preventive efforts, treatment, education, and trials using the same logistical footprint. Congratulations go out to the AFMC team and other AFMS annual award recipients who, together with the many outstanding medics of the Air Force Medical Service, continue to provide "Trusted Care, Anywhere!"
