Colonel Margaret (Meg) M. Carey is the Commander, 92d Medical Group, Fairchild Air Force Base, WA.  She commands a group, supported by 3 squadrons, delivers highly reliable patient-centered healthcare services in support of 38,000 beneficiaries assigned to the 92d Air Refueling Wing, 17 partner units and the local community.  Her team of 300 personnel promotes population health through prevention, restores health and enhances human performance.  She oversees a $31 Million financial program to ensure readiness and operational support for the full range of military missions.

Colonel Carey was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia in May, 1985.  She was commissioned in the Air Force as a First Lieutenant in May, 1991.  Colonel Carey was competitively selected to pursue study as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner through an Air Force Institute of Technology scholarship which culminated in her receiving a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida.  She has held various nursing and leadership positions at the Squadron, Group and Air Staff level.  Col Carey is married to Curt Carey and they have two college aged children, Malissa and Justin.  Col Carey maintains her PNP certification and continues to practice in the Fairchild Pediatric Clinic.
